Smallworld PowerOn® Outage Management Software Enhanced Delivers improved network reliability and outage management ATLANTA, GEORGIA (October 7, 2003) GE Power Systems, a leading supplier of network dependability products, servicing the utilities and telecommunications industries, announces an enhancement for Smallworld PowerOn with the introduction of the 3.0 software product. Designed to manage outage status information, the application allows utility personnel to accurately reflect the current state of the network and report the results of the restoration process. Since it was first introduced in the summer of 1998, Smallworld PowerOn has provided large utility customers with a tool that has had significant impact on reducing their outage restoration time. This latest version of Smallworld PowerOn introduces new workflow concepts that accommodate utility customers of all sizes and varying voltage levels, providing a seamless method for customers to better manage operational efficiencies and crew dispatch efforts during outage events.
