Integrity in GE is captured in a simple, but comprehensive document, The Spirit & The Letter. This helps each and every one of the three hundred and twenty thousand people who work for GE understand how to address the challenges that have brought other companies to their knees.

All of my staff and I rely on The Spirit & The Letter to lead our business. It  guides us so we always know how we should be doing business. It ensures  we conduct business one way and one way only...the right way.

Looked at from the outside I suspect some people might perceive GE's integrity culture as a burden...as an unnecessary piece of bureaucracy...or even as something that gets in the way of growing our business. From where I sit, this could not be further from the truth.

With people working every day in over sixty countries around the world, our integrity culture means I can rely on all of our employees because I know they will abide by our policies...they will not be offering improper payments...they will not engage in insider  trading...they will  ensure  they and their colleagues are working safely and in a fair, non-discriminating environment.

All of this means we can focus on our jobs...helping our customers tackle the most demanding challenges our industry offers.

Integrity is the soul of GE. It's how we live. It's who we are.
