Size alone underestimates the advantage

Clearly, size has many advantages. Financial stability affords us the flexibility to undertake significant research initiatives over long time frames without directly associated revenue. We view this not as a cost, but as an important investment in our own longevity and that of the industry as a whole. Size also provides economies of scale in manufacturing and distribution, which in turn contribute to our ability to maintain well-staffed service centers and expert field crews in all key industry sectors and regions.

Joe Mastrangelo is GE’s new General Manager Units – responsible for the supply of all new equipment to our customers worldwide. Joe takes over from Francesco Giuliani and has been with GE since 1993, most recently as GM Midstream and GM Units Commercial Operations.

In this article, Joe discusses the interaction of disciplines across the entire GE organization, and how it translates into advanced technologies for our oil and gas customers.
