Bus Ducts

Wide Variety of Bus Duct Products

GE is a world leader in the design and manufacture of bus ducts, and related products and services. We have more than 25 years of experience providing high-quality bus duct equipment to power generation customers worldwide. We have delivered bus duct projects up to 28,800 amperes (A) self-cooled - among the largest installed.

GE's offerings include a wide variety of designs, from isolated phase MiniFlux bus ducts to smaller Min-I-Phase® bus ducts. We also manufacture different types of auxiliary equipment such as generator terminal enclosures and high current, telescopic disconnect switches.

All manufacturing activities satisfy GE's Six Sigma quality assurance system and meet ISO 9001 standards.

Products Directory

Isolated Phase Bus Ducts MiniFlux

Specifically designed for power plant and large switching station applications, GE's MiniFlux isolated phase bus duct provides reliable operation with a minimal amount of maintenance. This design is welded rather than bolted, for a more stable structure with a better seal.

Min-I-Phase® Isolated Phase Bus Ducts

The Min-I-Phase® bus duct is specifically designed for reduced space. Our design can be used for AC and DC excitation leads in power plants, or in industrial applications where severe conditions can cause problems to the electrical environment.

Segregated and Non-Segregated Bus Ducts

For applications up to 34.5 kilovolts (KV) and up to 8000A, GE offers multiple options for custom-designed indoor and outdoor bus ducts.

Round Non-Segregated Bus Ducts

The round non-segregated bus duct offers superior strength and minimal weight due to its unique triangular design. This bus duct design allows easy installation since long bus segments can be shipped to site to minimize fieldwork.

Disconnect Switch (Telescopic and Blade Types)

GE designs and manufactures low-maintenance, high-capacity disconnect switches for multiple maintenance applications - such as generator isolation.

Bus Duct Auxiliary Equipment

Meeting specific customer requirements, GE designs and manufactures a range of peripheral equipment related to bus ducts.

Engineering and Installation Services

Combining analysis and field testing, along with years of experience and computer simulations, GE can provide ampacity studies and unique solutions where bus temperatures exceed limits, to help customers make informed decisions for upgrading and refurbishment projects.

GE also provides field supervision and installation services for new or existing self-cooled or force-cooled bus ducts.
