Gas Turbine Inlet Systems

Gas turbines are required to operate in some of the world’s most severe environments. Often situated in remote locations, operators cannot afford for these engines to breakdown. In harsh circumstances the trouble-free operation of a gas turbine can be an ongoing battle, and it is essential that the air inlet system is optimized to meet these challenges.

GE is dedicated to the development of world-class gas turbine inlet systems. We serve a wide variety of industries and applications, offering industry-leading knowledge of filtration in the most demanding of environments. In addition to inlet filters and turbine inlet cooling, we also supply a wide range of ancillary equipment, including full acoustic packages, high performance weather protection, moisture eliminators, ventilation systems and structural steelwork.

From early developments in the marine industry, we quickly introduced new turbine filtration systems for many other arduous applications. Building on this foundation, we now provide filters throughout the world and protect gas turbines in every type of environment.

Industries Served

Oil & Gas

Often situated in remote locations such as jungles, deserts, offshore platforms and FPSOs, gas turbines are used extensively by the oil and gas industries. These locations, often in harsh environments, are the main reason why the specification of filtration and inlet systems for turbines is so crucial.

Power Generation

Combustion turbines used for power generation are frequently located in industrial areas. This means that the local atmosphere can contain high levels of small particulate such as carbon. Even plants located in rural areas can be subjected to high amounts of particulate, often due to seasonal agricultural processes. These contaminants can significantly impair the performance of a turbine

Marine

Turbines have been used for many years in naval applications as marine propulsion systems. More recently the fast ferry, cruise ship and LNG carrier markets have also adopted the gas turbine both for propulsion, and in the case of cruise ships, hotel load.
