In 2007, Sondex was acquired by General Electric (GE) and is now part of the new Oilfield Technology solution platform within GE.

Prior to acquisition, Sondex had some 450 employees across nine countries, including highly qualified development staff, experienced former service company field support staff and a quality-focused production management team. Much of the equipment manufacture is carried out through highly experienced specialist sub-contractors.

Over the years, GE has earned an excellent reputation for designing, developing and engineering high quality, performance tools for the oil and gas industry, and for supporting the tools with exceptional customer service.

GE's Oilfield Technology headquarters is located in Hampshire, UK. The group has sales and technical support offices in 18 locations around the world. Research and Development facilities are located in the UK, Canada and the United States.
