Inlet Filtration for Gas Turbines

GE has acquired Altair Filter Technology Group Limited, and offers high quality inlet filtration solutions for the power generation, oil and gas and marine industries. Altair's inlet filter systems have been installed in more than 2,000 units worldwide, with proven system performance in environments as diverse as offshore, tropical, desert and arctic tundra.

Established in 1966, Altair built a reputation for excellence through significant research, development and testing capabilities, using the latest materials technology to produce innovative design solutions.

"This acquisition expands our offerings in the environmental services area," said Dan Heintzelman, president of GE's services business. "Altair's expertise, experience and technology will strengthen our inlet systems and filtration capabilities, enabling us to provide customers with more complete pre-combustion air quality solutions."

GE's environmental services portfolio covers a broad range of applications, including gas turbine air filtration, fuel and air monitoring and conditioning, combustion control, particulate matter control and pollutant monitoring and testing.
